We all say it.
A sentence so costly, it drains your ambition, steals your time, and keeps you hiding from your true potential.
It’s not about being stuck; it’s about being scared.
And it’s time to stop.
In this solo episode of the Finding Peak podcast, I’m breaking down the most expensive sentence you can say and giving you the 4-step protocol I developed to break free from the self-sabotage of hiding.
This isn’t more motivational fluff or finding your “why.”
This is a 7-day tactical sprint to force clarity, build confidence, and get you out of your own way.
The Two Questions That Expose Everything
To figure out where you’re hiding, you only need to answer two questions with brutal honesty:
When you’re 80, what will you regret not doing?
What did you want to change a year ago that you still want to change today?
If the answers to these two questions are the same, you’re not confused. You’re hiding. The alignment of your past desires with your future regrets is a flashing sign pointing directly at the thing you need to be doing right now.
The Seductive Lie of “Potential”
Hiding is a strategy. It’s a way to protect your ego from the harsh judgment of execution.
As long as you’re “almost” doing the thing, you get to live in the comfortable, pristine world of potential. Potential can’t be judged. Potential can’t fail.
But life doesn’t pay out on potential. It pays on output. It pays on the receipts you get from taking action in the real world.
And that’s terrifying. So we delay. We wait for the “right time.” We tell ourselves we “just need more time.”
This is the most expensive sentence you can say: “I just need more time.”
It’s a lie that feels like a responsible excuse, but it’s just a socially acceptable way of saying you’re afraid to be seen trying.

The 4-Step Exposure Protocol
Clarity doesn’t come from thinking; it comes from contact with reality.
Action creates feedback. Feedback creates clarity. Clarity creates confidence.
…and confidence is what breaks you out of hiding. Here’s the protocol:
Name the Arena: Pick ONE area where you’re hiding. Not five. One.
Choose One Daily Exposure Rep: What is one small, daily action you can take to expose yourself to the thing you’re avoiding?
Add Stakes: Tell someone. Create a consequence for inaction.
Ship First, Get Clarity: Don’t wait to feel ready. Ship the imperfect version.

The 7-Day Challenge
I challenge you to run this protocol for just seven days.
Here’s what I’m doing for the next seven days:
One arena.
One rep.
Every day.
Day 1: pick the arena + define the rep
Day 2: do it sloppy
Day 3: do it when I don’t want to
Day 4: do it when I feel behind
Day 5: do it when I feel embarrassed
Day 6: do it when I feel numb
Day 7: do it and realize… I’m not dying
This is the core of RealityOS – engaging directly with the world as it is, not as you wish it would be.
Key Takeaways
Clarity comes from action, not thought. You can’t think your way out of a problem you’ve behaved your way into.
Hiding is a strategy, not a character flaw. You’re not lazy; you’re protecting your ego.
Potential is a trap. Life rewards execution, not intention.
The most expensive sentence is “I just need more time.” It’s a lie that keeps you from the life you want.
This is the way.

That is exactly the sentence I said earlier this week after realizing a health condition I have been ignoring for years is progressing faster than I expected. Thank you for reminding me instead of focusing all my prayers and efforts on my health I can also be making progress with the time I have. We all have an expiration date why are any of us hiding from our potential?
